English: The chapel where Lloyd George got married This is the Calvinist Methodist Capel Pencaenewydd chapel, built in 1822. It was here that David Lloyd George, a young solicitor on the make from nearby Llanystumdwy, married Margaret Owen, the daughter of a well to-do farmer from Mynydd Ednyfed, Criccieth in 1888. Margaret's father, Richard Owen, a prominent Calvinistic Methodist, looked with disapproval on Lloyd George who was a member of the Disciples of Christ, an obscure Free Baptist sect.
